Your Valtellina.
Mountains, water, villages and vineyards. Your days change rhythm without changing the place you return to.

Eight ideas. One valley to explore.
Choose a destination, then open its practical tips: where to start, how to plan your day and what to check before leaving.

Val di Mello
A day among clear streams and the valley’s great rock walls. Choose a route through the reserve to suit your time and pace.
Plan your visit
Use San Martino as your starting point on foot. Choose a valley-floor walk suited to your group; high-altitude routes require different preparation. Check parking, access and weather with the Reserve.
Bring water, a snack, a warm layer and a rain jacket, plus shoes with good grip. A downloaded map and a charged phone help you plan the return without relying on mobile coverage.
Choose a realistic turnaround point for your group and the available daylight. With children, keep breaks away from exposed edges and slippery stream banks. Take your litter home and respect the peace of the nature reserve.

Morbegno
Explore the old town on foot, pause at its shops and see the Ganda bridge over the Adda. An easy way into the rhythm of lower Valtellina.
Plan your visit
Combine the old town with Ganda Bridge or Palazzo Malacrida. On a rainy day, consider the Natural History Museum; check visiting hours before setting out.

Lago di Como
At Colico the valley meets the lake. The waterfront, open views and a pause by the water bring a fresh perspective to your stay.
Plan your visit
Start on Colico’s waterfront. For an extra visit, choose Piona Abbey or one of the forts; check opening times and booking arrangements before planning your transfers.

Via dei Terrazzamenti
Vineyards and dry-stone walls shape the valley slopes between Morbegno and Tirano. Choose a stage and make time for scenery and local flavours.
Plan your visit
Choose a single stage between Morbegno and Tirano and plan your return first. Bring water and sun protection; contact the winery in advance if you want a tasting.

Sentiero Valtellina
A walking and cycling route along the Adda, made for exploring in stages. Check the official route, alternatives and access points before setting off.
Plan your visit
Use the official map to choose your access point, distance and return route. Check diversion notices before leaving; bike rental information is available on the route website.

Val Gerola
From valley villages to high-altitude landscapes, discover another side of Valtellina. Browse local ideas and choose activities for the season.
Plan your visit
Use Gerola Alta as your reference point and ask the tourist office for a seasonal itinerary. Lakes Trona and Zancone in the photo are hiking destinations, rather than a valley-floor stroll.

Palazzo Malacrida
An eighteenth-century palazzo hidden in upper Morbegno, with frescoes, stucco and views over the old town. Check opening times and visits before setting out.
Plan your visit
In the upper part of Morbegno, it combines well with a town walk. Check prices, opening times and reservations with Porte di Valtellina; arrange your interior visit before arriving.

Bagni Forest
Firs, beeches, great granite boulders and old mule tracks create an intimate Val Masino landscape to explore at the right pace for the season.
Plan your visit
The tourism office’s route starts at Bregolana along Sentiero dei Borghi no. 455. There is also a sensory trail at Bagni. Read the route description and choose a suitable section for your group.

Two days at an easy pace
Spend the first morning in Morbegno: stroll through the centre, browse a local shop and enjoy the flavours of the valley over lunch. In the afternoon, choose a short stretch along the Adda after checking the route map.
For your second day, choose one direction: Colico for a lakeside atmosphere, or a side valley for the mountains. Allow time to stop and return comfortably, without filling the day with transfers.
Near Cosio, the remains of San Pietro in Vallate Abbey offer a medieval landmark surrounded by nature.
A rainy-day alternative
Keep a flexible day for Morbegno’s centre, local shops and a relaxed lunch with regional produce. Check opening times and booking requirements directly with venues before arranging cultural visits or tastings.
For an outdoor day, take water, suitable clothing and a map available offline. With children or bicycles, choose a section that suits everyone: diversions on the Sentiero Valtellina may use roads open to traffic.
Plan the day well
For outdoor activities, check the weather, access restrictions, parking and opening times shortly before leaving: mountain conditions can change quickly.
